BATIMED Conference - Poland, Algeria, Morocco
On 23rd - 26th of February Polish Chamber of Commerce hosted a delegation of Algerian and Moroccan businessmen and construction & infrastructure specialists from France, Italy and Poland. The meeting was a part of BATIMED Project, which is led by the Polish Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with Casablanca Chamber of Industry, Commerce and Services and Algerian Emloyers Confederation. The BATIMED Project is conducted within the Invest in Med Program supported by the European Commission.
BATIMED focuses on broadly understood construction & infrastructure sector and aims at increasing trade and investments exchange between European Union countries and MED Region countries, particularly Algieria and Morocco.
A conference on opportunities for cooperation in the area of construction & infrastructure, with particular focus on joint projects based in Algieria and Morocco was held in Polish Chamber of Commerce on 23rd of February. The meeting was opened by the President of the PCC - Andrzej Arendarski, the Director of the Polish agency of European Commission – Ms. Marie-Therese Duffy-Haeusler, Vice President of the Casablanca Chamber of Industry, Commerce and Services – Mr. Abdelilah Qammous and the President of Annaba Division of the Algerian Emloyers Confederation – Mr. Pan Hachemi El Malaoui.
The conference was held with the participation of the representatives of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Infrastructure as well as representatives of Algerian, Moroccan, Polish and Italian business organizations and companies. On 24th of January all the participants of the conference participated in individual commercial meetings and consultations with European Union specialists. On 25th – 26th of January the conference was continuated in cooperation with the Regional Chamber of Commerce, including a visit to the International Fair SIBEX’2010.
